The Westin Dragonara Resort is named after Dragonara Point on which it is built. According to local legend, the area is named after a dragon who lived in caves in the peninsula. Although the caves can be explored today, any fire breathing old dragons are apparently extinct and replaced by the sparkling Westin Dragonara Resort. Classical colonial-style elegance and luxury, and open sea views and tranquility of the Resort are a superb backdrop to the wedding of your dreams.
Originally built in 1870 as the guest cottage for the Palazzo Dragonara (the Grade I neoclassical palace which can still be admired in its new role as Malta’s premiere casino). Tastefully decorated in a palette inspired by Malta, Quadro is small enough to host intimate receptions of up to 50 guests inside, or large enough to effortlessly welcome a party of an additional 60 guests by incorporating the outside terrace, with panoramic views. The Quadro cellar has an extremely well-stocked with a World-class range of reasonably priced local and international wines.
The enviable location of The Westin Dragonara Resort on its own peninsula is enhanced by a choice of individual and unique sea-side locations, and private beaches. These include the palace’s ornate boat house, and the palace’s original sunken garden, which offers an ornate and very different backdrop for summer weddings. Snug indoor venues are also available in the Resort; ideal for weddings held in the colder winter months.
Indeed it has become a home-from-home for Hollywood stars and international dignitaries when visiting the Maltese Islands. The Resort offers a luxurious range of accommodation, from a Penthouse with 360 degree views and a Jacuzzi on the roof terrace, to a Family Room, or a luxury Bay Suite which includes a private pool with open sea views. Each room has recently benefited further from a 40m EUR makeover and lots of contemporary twists from Lynne Hunt, the British interior designer who numbers London’s Claridge’s amongst her clients. The motto on the Grade I listed entrance arch bears the inscription from Latin “God made this gem for us” which sets the tone for an unforgettable experience at Westin Dragonara Resort.
Westin Dragonara Resort offers a portfolio of wedding packages including an all-inclusive option which includes accommodation, a full dining experience and a number of on-site parking spaces for the convenience of guests.
